PIC HEAVY.... Good Evening. I am going to try to clean up an estate. I could use a bit of info if anyone has some to share on what this pipe is. It's a Nording Extra Plateau top of that I'm reasonably sure. I see a lot of straight grain, but also a few blemishes or black dots, fills? Any idea of series, age, original or current retail value?
The stem is pretty interesting. Lots of angles. It looks different than any I've seen on a Nording like this. Could it be a replacement? I kinda like the diamond against the flat shank cap or ferule.
Ream, Salt/Alcohol soak, soak and clean stem, Halcyon wax and buff with rag? Anything else? Should I clean with Murphy's oil soap and tooth brush around the top?
Any suggestions are appreciated.
