How old are your cobs? The gal I spoke to, said it was the washingtons that come with plugs. But that was maybe 7 years ago?

Here's the bulk of my cob collection, with a few MM hardwoods as well. Some smoked, some yet unsmoked.
Several have been modded, such as the black painted, filtered Morgan with nickel band belonging to Mrs. Lumbridge. The Diplomat on the bottom-right is charred, on the bottom-left is a Zenonwarden with a MacArthur stem.
Yeah, I'm a weirdo - I prefer the stock plastic stems to acrylic. Easier on my teeth and jaw.

Ah, I picked up pipes in 2018, so all of mine were purchased from then onward. It'd be cool if they reintroduced a Washington/Legend with a plug. Maybe with the dark finish like on the Country Gentleman.
Nope, I was wrong. 5th Avenue Diplomat was what she was referring to that had a plug. But I had one of each at the time. And they both came with one. lol
Easy mixup, very similar pipe. Yeah, the 5A Diplomats are nice, but the bowls are a bit deeper than I prefer. The Apple Diplomat is great, though.
Anyone know about what year this MM was produced? I also have a similar one with a double stamped MM into the wood on the bottom. Just curious thanks!

I initially thought this NOS, unsmoked Missouri Meerschaum pipe was from the 1970s, but something made me want to find out more about it before taking flame to it.
I had not seen this sticker variant on pipephil.eu, so I wrote to Missouri Meerschaum to see if they had any info on this Churchwarden with its long, curved, bamboo stem.
They wrote back to me today and told me it appears to be their “Grandpa B” from the 1950s, which retailed for fifty cents at the time. Here’s a catalogue page from a 1955 catalogue showing this model in the lower left corner, second from the left:
In light of this being from the ’50s and in unsmoked condition, I’m thinking I will leave it so, since it survived all this time (about seventy years!) unsullied. I have plenty of other cobs to smoke, but am unlikely to come across a virginal example of this vintage ever again.

Fantastic smokers. A friend at pipe club gifted the first one, and I'll admit to some initial skepticism.

Did you have any trouble breaking that in? Mine tasted like the stain for the first 15 bowls.
No problems breaking it in. Didn't have any weird lacquer taste. The first couple of smokes I had in it were C&D Kelley's Coin. It's a pretty hearty smoke so that may be the reason all I tasted qas burley.

Just got this in the mail today and read a bit of history of Irvin S. Cobb and H&B. I'm looking forward to smoking it.
Been really enjoying this MM Stormy Twain. Disregard that tin of whatever in the background there.
Here's my Dad's old cob. I estimate it is about 60 years old. I did a deep clean on it because it was pretty sour. Cake removed, scrub internals, polish that brass ring a bit, and get the oxidation off the stem was enough to get a sweet smoking pipe. Enjoying a bowl of semois!
