I would call this Wiley a chimney, but I'm no expert. What's the difference between a stack and a chimney ? Is this a stack ?

Stovepipe is the same as chimney, but people seem to have really wide differences in usage for “stack”. Instead of a tall billiard and a chimney, why not a regular chimney and Super-Chimney? I’ve seen really long pipes, and really giant pipes at 10 oz. or so, but just “chimney“ doesn’t cover the super-tall cartoonish ones we’ve seen pics of a couple in this thread.

Regardless, it’s your pipe, and it’s gorgeous. Call it what you like.

A nice Smith House Pipes stubby nosewarmer chimney/ stack/ browburner... whatever you want to call it, about 2.9" tall 4" long with a 0.75x2.5" Chamber, carefully working on building cake in it with third bowls of Carter Hall for the time being after a initial full bowl of an aged VaPer flake. Clenches well and will be a great summertime long smoke pipe for sure.

Good lord. If you have old man eyebrows, you won’t after the first smoke from that beautiful pipe!

Haha no brother not yet, I just have 39 year old eyebrows and they're not very thick 😅 I think I'll be fine for another 15 years or so 😝 but thank you she definitely is beautiful, Rich does amazing work 👌🏻

Wow... Some incredible chimneys here. Can’t say I have much in this regard, as I generally prefer smaller bowls, but there are two that I think fit the bill and are interesting.

The first is a Butz-Choquin Normandie, stamper R on the shank (anyone know what that means?). She’s quite a tall chimney, if I do say so myself:

The second is a pipe given to me by a friend and now a well known master pipe-maker in my neck of the woods back when we were both novices in the hobby. This is an early work, so early that there isn’t even a stamp, as I don’t think he’d thought up what to put there yet. This is also the only cherry-wood pipe he’s ever made, and the only cherry-wood pipe I own. He’s gone down the freehand, luxury pipe-making route, and made some success at it. I like to smoke this one occasionally, and admire the talent that was evident even then:
