Just broke my $100 per pipe amount for the second time ever. This one was by $25 so I don’t feel too bad. Unsmoked GGG

Do you have pics of your collection? I think I’m also primarily under the $100 per pipe mark except for one that was $125.
I don’t have any. I usually do share photos when I make a purchase and keep one or maybe 2 pipes. But I dont keep them for long unless they are killer smokers like my ardors. My current collection is of 10 pipes: newer Dunhills, castellos, ardors, savinelli (freehand), and a nice gourd calabash. I’m sending out several for cleaning and will probably keep a Sasieni or 2, a charatan, and a stack. I have a handful at work that I’ve dropped quite a bit. Here’s some I’ve purchased in the past and kept about 10-12.

Please teach me your ways.

There are so many beauties there but that white stemmed Radice is catching my eye the most. Do you have a side photo of it?

Possibly. Definitely for a GGG. That’s the reason I had to break my $100 rule I have for myself. Fingers crossed it’s not too good to be true. I just bought it, so it hasn’t shipped yet.
It’s supposed to arrive tomorrow. Keep fingers crossed for me.

Here are two sculpted Castello pipes I picked up at the 2014 WCPS in Las Vegas. A '90 (43) shape 215 kk Collection and a '97 (50) shape 34 kkkk Collection and a group shot of my 34's. 8O

I like the look of the virgin sea rock, it's getting some great patina after you've been handling it and smoking it. Real nice!
Rhetorical :
There is no such thing as patina on pipes, or on any wood for that matter. It's a myth.
On coins there is. On wood it is accumulated dirt that dodgy antique dealers refer to as "patina"
to entice us. Patina as decolouring on Meers, yes. It builds up from the chamber .
On the stummel exterior it is only dirt from handling . I like to keep my vergin pipes clean .

Light colored briars darken as meers do. You can smoke them with white gloves and they will still darken. Probably not what we would call patina though.
