This thread is weak.

Not everyone shares the same interests. I carried the fantastic plastic stuff for 7 years for our uncle.

Now, in my personal time, I prefer the old world craftsmanship of wood and blued steel.

And, on the topic of strength, old .30 caliber rounds have been turning "cover" into "concealment" since the 1890's.

nana

Nice collection, though.

Agreed on your opinion. Love the new space age stuff we used in the military and am VERY competent and comfortable in its use. Each generation of weapon system has its + and - , would I rather carry 500 rounds of 5.56 or 30-06? That’s a no brainer but, if I wanted to take someone out of the fight without going through 500 rounds the old school is a better option. The F-16 fighter is a fine weapons system but doesn’t take away from the effectiveness and craftsmanship or beauty of the P-51 Mustang. Different mission, different time and different philosophies!

I feel the same way. When I left the Army, I never wanted to touch an assault rifle or any military weapon for that matter, ever again.

I do hunt and I have a number of muzzleloaders, shotguns and both a bolt action and lever action rifle (both are classics, with wood stocks and blued steel). But I really don’t use them anymore. I have an atavistic nature and so I use trad bows when hunting. This way I feel more in tune with the world around me and the playing field is more leveled when stalking. The chase is much more personal. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve fallen asleep up in a stand or in a blind.

And I got off track. Guess what I’m saying is I never felt the need to get into the whole AR platform and all the tacticool shit. Im all for the 2nd Amendment but I don’t care much for all the gun porn. Like a Jay said, not everyone shares the same interests.

I meant the photos were weak! And the photos were becoming few and far between. I would never insult another man's choice of weapon.

I’m tracking what you’re saying. Figured as far as pics it would burn out pretty quickly. I think I cranked through the 20 something firearms I own in like 4 posts doing group pics. Like I said, I just enjoy seeing what everyone else is into and why. As a mechanic with an engineering background, it fascinates me the number of ways different designs are used to accomplish the same goal of putting a projectile on target down range ;)

I'm not even sure what I'm looking at, though I do see a pipe and some Mixture 79!

Is that a leaf blower? Or a Popeil Pocket Fisherman? (Google it, kids) nana

haha yeah it’s just a leaf blower, alongside my toddlers’ bubble and water guns. It’s a plastic (briarlon?) pipe, which coincidentally I did have my first glorious bowl of 79 in. Only downside, it doesn’t ghost all my other blends with that sweet liquorice sauce.

that pocket fisherman looks a hoot
