Round isn't open yet. Would you prefer I start a new thread for each round?
If the consensus wishes I could ask for people to post that want to try the tobacco for said round for a week, then put everyone's name in a hat, and draw the names. The ones I draw will get a sample.
This may get more participation overall, since its not time limited to first come first served.
What you guys think?

Just want to say, Click, that you are one generous guy for donating your hard earned tobacco to the forum and doing all of the postage work.
On behalf of the forum, thank you.

Thank you guys. Part of the enjoyment for me is just sharing the enjoyment with others. I'm going to start a new thread for each round with revised rules. I think a full week of eligibility would allow all those interested to get their name in. I'll be giving out more than one sample each round doing it this way, maybe three or four, but heck, I've only had 3 rounds so far and have sent out 21 samples.
I'll be starting the round 4 thread for the mccranie old Syrian tonight. Stay tuned. I'll link to this thread.
Also, if anyone will be in Chicago this year and wants me to bring something to the PM meet up table, let me know.

My little one got sick this weekend so I haven't had the chance to post round 4. Hopefully sometime this week.

First off id like to say a big thank you. I was kindly and generously gifted 2 samples of the '92CC (one from a sealed tin and one from a mason jar). The tinned sample appeared to be a little darker which was surprising to me as I thought more light exposure would darken the leaf more. The tin note of the tinned blend was sweeter, but neither had much of the McClelland vinegar/ketchup smell I love so much. The jarred version almost had a cinnamon/graham cracker essence. I was surprised at how differently these 2 same blends of the same age smoked. Though both good, the tinned sample was significantly sweeter and creamier. The jarred version was much less sweet and a little bit spicy/peppery like it had some perique. Neither had any tongue bite. And I was puffing pretty steadily as I usually do with such tasty smokes.
I smoked the 2 different blends in the same VA dedicated pipe days apart and had my SO put an 'x' on 1 sample and an 'o' on the other so this was a true blind test. It was shocking to experience such a dramatic difference 20+ years had on the same blend in different conditions.
Thanks again Click
