BTW, I'm in conversation with a couple of vendors and blenders that might be offering samples packages, to cut down on costs. This could affect the choice of blends for a later crawl.

Welcome, Jeremy. You're drafted to the November Selection Team. I'll have to think about the threads. We have an August thread, which is for discussing the August Crawl, and likewise one for September.

Sweet! Thanks for having me. This is a really great idea and a good way to network with other pipers. I look forward to the coming months.

Brass my "plan" is no more logical than any other method of distilling the personal choices of multiple iconoclasts, a description to which as pipe smokers we inherently answer.. Actually I like your proposed progression rather better. What I get for posting sleep deprived in the middle of the night.

I was fine with Three Nuns as I like it and have tins of it, but I didn't endorse it for the month. Just to clear that up, lol.
I personally like the idea of themes and I think the natural progression should have been straight Va, then VaBur, VaPer, etc. so if we could correct that by going straight VA next month I would throw my vote for that.

Ok, Darwin has recanted and hearing no further objections, we'll proceed in September with the existing plan, as outlined. 1. straight Virginian 2. Burley 3. Virginia Perique 4. English/Latakia
I would suggest that the VaPer be Perique forward blend and the English Lat forward, to help newbies identify the flavor more easily.

By November I think we should switch to something a little stronger, I need some English Blends! 8O
But I guess I can wait an extra month...

Welcome, Pruss. You'll be number one in December, unless someone drops out for some reason. Everyone please realize, we might have to make some adjustments as we go along.
Anyone can join in at anytime and smoke as few or as many blends as they like. Declaring your membership gives you an official voice in the blend selection and theme planning. Procure your selections from your favorite vendor, your cellar, or swap samples with fellow tobacco crawlers. PM CmdrMcBragg, our TinMaster for sharing assistance.

So what about smokeybear's suggestion about G.L. Pease's Barbary Coast for the Burley and my suggestion of McClelland's Deep Hollow for the straight VA?

I'm hearing no objections and it's fine with me. Do you want to close it for discussions and post it? Ya'll have final decision, no matter what.

Welcome, Mike73 It is never to late to join. Anyone can join in at anytime and smoke as few or as many blends as they like. Anyone can join the conversation at anytime, as long as they've smoked the blend.
However, declaring your membership gives you an official voice in the blend selection and theme planning. You'll be number two in the December Selection Team, unless someone drops out for some reason. Everyone please realize, we might have to make some adjustments to pick order as we go along. But don't wait to participate. Check out the August menu and start there. Durn, I'm starting to sound like a late-night slicer/dicer commercial.
Procure your selections from your favorite vendor, your cellar, or swap samples with fellow tobacco crawlers. PM CmdrMcBragg, our TinMaster for sharing assistance.

Ya i don't think it matters much in what we choose as long as its different every month i mean the goal is to try different blends am i right? and 4 different blends a week ie Virgina, burley, English aro or whatever will at least cater to all members preferences.
