I have magic erasers, 12,000 grit paper and microfiber pads en route. I’ve also read that soaking the stems in oxy clean brings out the oxidation.
I'd skip that step entirely. It can cause pitting that will need sanding. There's another way that involves a lighter and a wet paper towel but that one is best left until you've got a couple of cleanups under your belt.
Ok, noted! I’ve done some reaming and sanding on a couple of meerschaums and a briar. I stopped for lack of the right tools and materials but when I get the shipment I’ll revisit them. I’ve never tried stems. Just replaced a broken one is all so far. Yours turned out great!

Ah, that is the question. That entirely depends on how much the buyer is willing to pay for it. I once saw a Bo Nordh go for $40,000.00
Wow! I’ve seen bowls with broken or missing stems that were in good shape but I don’t know about getting stems. There’s so many different types. I wouldn’t know where to go. I found one for a meerschaum but that wasn’t a big deal.

Back when Chasing Embers, I, and a number of others were given a personalized tag, it wasn't something that you could order, it was something that was offered by the Powers That Be, with a caution not to get too grand over being offered one lest ye fall into the fiery pit.

Kind of hard to say that when you get the name professionally smudged. And quite possibly sacrificing Rocky Mortons sanity might have helped lift the curse (or displaced it, yeah I went there again... There are somethings in life that boggle the mind so that it's almost hard to believe that real living people had anything to do with it....)
