Saying Goodbye to A Couple of Friends

My condolences on your losses. While knowing that euthanasia saves them pain, it also is an enormous responsibility as a pet owner and seems a cruelty at the time. We had a cat with kidney failure who went from healthy to obviously in dire straits in only two weeks. Some final tests and a bad prognosis led to a scheduled time for the visit to the vet. Somehow knowing that time was the hardest part, even harder than taking him there.

I know and feel your pain, sorry for your loss. I had to do the same a couple of months ago with my best friend Bacardi the cat, he was always with me, used to lay over my shoulders all day long and just hang out, I still miss him.

I've been there many more times than I care to remember. Dogs, horses, it doesn't matter. They become a part of your life, and it is always difficult to make the decision to put them down. I find that it helps to remember that we need to do what is best for them and not for us. It doesn't make things any better to let them suffer. My animals have always been good and faithful to me. I return the favor by helping them get to the rainbow bridge.

Very sorry for your loss. Best remedy in my mind is to go get another as quickly as possible. I have a 9 year old Yorkie and a 6 month old American Bull dog. I try and keep a good spread in ages so when it is time for one to go the other can comfort.

I didn't see this thread untill just now mate. I am truely sorry for the loss of your 2 friends and family members! I have just recently been there myself and I know how heartbreaking it is. Pictures and memories of better days help a bit, but only time can help with the rest. Thinking of you mate, take care.

Reading that almost made me cry, I love my shih tzu, and my schnoodle, anytime I hear of someone ,osing their pets it upsets me horribly, I really do feel for your loss, that is horrible losing two members of the family so close together. I hope you can find some way to cheer yourself up. Im so sorry to hear that, just try to remember how good a life you gave them, especially Coco if you recued him and gave him a final year of fun. Take care of yourself, and I hope you can get past it all and give another dog a happy life
