I am considering purchasing a Savinelli Author style pipe and have charted all the types Savinelli has. But my question is…what is the difference between a 320 and a 320 ks? Haven’t been able to find out.

A 320 is merely one where the vendor forgot to add the KS to the shape name. Did you mean a 321 by any chance?
Nah…I realize the 321 is the smaller version of the 320 but while researching, the KS does seem to be a little larger in some instances. But I have discovered that is not always the case. Hence the confusion.
A Bianca 320 has a bowl depth of 35mm but the Roma 320ks is 34mm.
The Bianca has an inside dia bowl of 23.5 whereas the Roma is 23.3.

I believe the 320 KS has a chamber of approximately 24+mm x 34+mm; the 320 has a chamber of approximately 23mm+ X 30mm+. I don't know if they make the 320 anymore as it appears to not be available as much and is no longer on their website. The prior usual difference between regular, KS and Ex was a few millimeters more in size over regular. The standard 614 is about 18x40 and my 2614KS is 20x42.

The 321 is smaller.

I have something in the neighbourhood of twenty 320 pipes of different size designations across three different marques—most are Savinelli (the others are Baraccini and Rossi); the EX and Mega are generally bigger than the KS; I have several with no number designation and they are not appreciably different than the ones stamped 320 KS. The one Dry System 2320 I have is the only one stamped 320 without a KS (or other size marking) and it is essentially the same as a 320 KS. I’m not sure if I have one that is just stamped 320, but I doubt it differs from the 320 KS.

Go for it, friend. I snagged one a few years ago on ebay and it has been a great smoker. It is not a huge bowl. I think most of my smokes run 40 minutes or so in it.

If you look through all of the same shape of the same line, there'll be minor differences in chamber dimensions.
