Thanks a lot for the suggestions everyone. I really am taking notes, will keep on looking until I find a winner.
Right now I just tried a "Wilke 191" from VTpipes.com. Got great reviews on TobaccoReviews.com—was noted for its room note. I can say that I enjoyed this immensely, but the room note wasn't good enough for my wife (she's sensitive to odors and while she's fine with my pipe smoking, she doesn't like tobacco smoke).
She hasn't made a fuss, but I know she's not loving the smell right now. So I've got to find something that smells awesome (and tastes good too) or I will have to smoke in the basement or outside this winter.
and [gmwolford], I will let you know how it goes with my other purchases! I should be receiving more this week.

So I was able to get some of Boswell's aromatics and I wrote a little review of the ones I've tried so far:

All in all, very nice aromatics - definitely worth trying if you want to please the family.

Six, yesterday I got some Evening Stroll at the tobacc shop I found. Now granted, I've only had 2-3 1/3 bowls, breaking in my new cob, but it has the most flavor I've tried yet and all the reviews sat it has great room note. I'm not sure which evening stroll it is,as there are two listed, but they both are recommended. Evening Stroll Reviews

Thanks [gmwolford] - I am adding that to my list to try out! I've got a quite a list growing. Personally, I have liked the room note of all the tobaccos I've tried, but I've got to please my family too and so far, as aromatics are concerned, Boswell's Berry Cobbler is tops. Should be receiving Lane 1-Q soon and very curious how that will be.

I understand completely, Six; I'm hoping to avoid banishment to the outdoors come winter, too! 8O To be honest, I can't really smell what I'm smoking too much. at least not yet.
For what its worth, after re-reading the descriptions of the two reviews, I'm fairly certain I have the second one.

Me too. In fact, it can be hard to detect an aroma other than just a mild, natural tobacco, which I don't mind at all but the family is less than impressed with. :)
[shawn] Thanks - will be adding this to my list of try outs too.
Unfortunately for me, when it comes to my family, I think the smoke is as much a factor as the smell, so banishment may be unavoidable I'm afraid. Oh well, such is life!

Much thanks and appreciation goes out to everyone here who helped me find a tobacco with an exceptional room note. For those that were also searching - I posted a review of my findings (tried 13 altogether!). Hope it helps:

Luxury Blend by Peterson has a good room note.
Smooth Sailing by Ashton has a good room note.
Both are good smokes, the Ashton's better than the Pete's.
