I saw him live at Chicago's London House in June of 1972, from the table closest to the stage.
Could have tapped him on the shoulder with a flyrod.

That must've been a hell of a show. But then again, Brubek 'til 4am sounds pretty fantastic.
A bygone era, any way you look at it.
I took my girlfriend (now my wife) to The London House, after her senior prom in 1966, to see The Ramsey Lewis Trio. It was a great show, and like George, we had a stage front table.
And, they didn't card us for drinks! She was 18, I was 20.

I love his music............ never saw him live. Honestly, I didn't think he was still living. A legend nevertheless! RIP...........
The Ramsey Lewis Trio, the jazz of my high school and college years. I knew him only from albums. Would have liked to see him at the London House in Chicago!
