I think that most would notice quality advice, outside of post counts. I never look at post counts, unless someone does something silly, and then post counts may help explain it, like digging up dead links, making comments to people who haven't been on the forum for several years, or trying to sell me tobacco or pipes.
And, as far as someone smoking for a hundred years verses someone who just started. Almost always the absolute best insights come more from the newbie, because they aren't so entrenched in their own methods or own stereotypes. Heck, even an old codger like me learns way more every time I come here from newbies and their questions than the other old farts. Old farts like me tend to just give the same stuff we've been talking about for forever.
And, pipe shop owners, in my experience of hanging out in pipe shops, usually don't know squat beyond the same mythologies that they've been spouting for decades. Just my $0.02
