Chasingembers, I think that's a great idea.

Oh, now I guess this thread is not dead....lol
Was thinking about using a pair of Generals. Huge tobacco chamber, and huge cooling chamber.

Oh yeah! Now we can set up a camp at the local veteran's memorial where there is a pokestop. We can set up a lure, lucky egg, and incense on so we can farm more of them and evolve them by the boatload to increase or EXP and become L33T trainers! FTW!

You can smoke a pipe until the end of time, and still learn more. Twenty-five years in here, and still learning.

Not easy to piss off. Not to long ago, we had a new member who apparently got on the forum to pile it up necroposting, and had it been coherent or purposeful, there would have been no issue. This fellow just kept piling up the forum with terribly old posts for no rhyme or reason, and then tore into anyone for complaining. I guess some nerves are still raw from that one, but for the most part, all of us are pretty easy going but very prone to outbursts of silliness from time to time. Welcome aboard brother!
davet, you can't even count....lol.
I think the trouble counting might be yours. I have no problems with bringing an old thread back to life IF there is something to add or something related to the topic. Commenting for the sake of commenting ...not so much, it clutters the list of topics. Just my 2 cents.

1coyote, we had a guy a few months back who dug up tons of dead posts and made the same comment on all of them. He admitted that he was only trying to get his post count up, so that he could trade and sell things on here. Thus, we are skeptical when people do similar things.
Otherwise, welcome to the forums.

You have to have a certain post count to participate in certain activities on this forum, such as trading and selling. Post count means more than the length of involvement on here, and is why some people cheat by necrobumps. And, how long you've been smoking a pipe has no affect on the forum.

Example: cosmic is a member since August of 2013. That's 3 years and he has over 9,200 posts.
You will never see Cosmic bringing back an old thread. There are thousands of advice, comments, sad moments, bad moments, pipe smoking moments, entering to a grocery store with a pipe in his mouth moments among his 9,200 posts. He wouldn't go to a month old thread and say
Very nice gift indeed! May you use it in good health for many years.
I have NO intention too sell anything NOW or EVER within this forum. My intentions are good. It's about sharing
Welcome to the forum.

I'm not a fan of the post count. Someone that has smoked their entire life and owns a successful baccy shop, could find this forum today, and any advice may be glossed over because of the low post count.

I think that most would notice quality advice, outside of post counts. I never look at post counts, unless someone does something silly, and then post counts may help explain it, like digging up dead links, making comments to people who haven't been on the forum for several years, or trying to sell me tobacco or pipes.
And, as far as someone smoking for a hundred years verses someone who just started. Almost always the absolute best insights come more from the newbie, because they aren't so entrenched in their own methods or own stereotypes. Heck, even an old codger like me learns way more every time I come here from newbies and their questions than the other old farts. Old farts like me tend to just give the same stuff we've been talking about for forever.

And, pipe shop owners, in my experience of hanging out in pipe shops, usually don't know squat beyond the same mythologies that they've been spouting for decades. Just my $0.02
