Rim & Shank

First I applied some carbon off to the rim to get rid of the lava.IMG_9853.jpegIMG_9854.jpegIMG_9858.jpeg
After a few minutes it just wipes off.

I scraped the rest with a hotel key card used as a card scraper. IMG_9861.jpegIMG_9862.jpeg

Then I reamed the draught hole with my airway reamer.IMG_9850.jpegIMG_9851.jpegIMG_9852.jpeg

Then started scraping out the mortise with a flat sharpened pipe nail end.
Then moved on to a small sharp sheep’s foot blade, and finally a bore brush.IMG_9859.jpegIMG_9865.jpegIMG_9864.jpegIMG_9860.jpeg

Stem: first I reamed the stem with a 02 pin reamer to clean and funnel it. This removed a lot of the crud in the stem. IMG_9855.jpegIMG_9856.jpeg

Then I funneled back the burnt up tenon tip with a sharp 60 degree countersink by hand.

Then I put an alcohol soaked pipe cleaner in it to soak for a few minutes.

This removed most of the gunk.
