I can certainly understand that.I have a two pipe rotation. Peterson Standard System 303s, one smooth, the other rusticated so I can tell 'em apart.
I have other pipes, but my brace of 303s seem the do most of the heavy lifting.

the trick to finding the stand up blends is not so much where the peak is but more how consistently they're enjoyable. Yorktown is probably my main smoke. Other blends have wowed me harder but there aren't a lot that pretty much every pipe full is highly enjoyable.I might smoke a blend one day that I really like. Smoke it the following day,and its like meh.
there are certainly some blends like that. Erinmore is the first that comes to mind. That weird herbal floral, exotics fruitiness.I just have never found anything like Skiff Mixture. It almost seems like Skiff mixture is one thing, and all other pipe tobacco is another. I don't understand why it's so unique to my mouth.
