Well done. I was going to suggest using a small piece of wood such as a toothpick in the screw holes to tighten the grip of the screws but it seems you have mastered the project. Looks great.

Made by your father as a gift for your grandfather, and carefully refurbished by you. You can't get better than that for a family heirloom. I inherited my grandfather's round pipe rack in walnut including an amber tobacco jar, that my father inherited from him, and rescued by my younger sister who passed it along to me. I cherish it and use it for overflow from my other racks. These family items are priceless. You did a great job, looks perfect.
