How are you guys carrying these things around?

I carry the pipe roll mainly when hiking or fishing. I stuff it in the backpack.
I purchased a bag from Neil Flancbaum of Smokin Holsters 15 years ago and can endorse the product and Neil. He makes pipe and cigar rollups as well.

I agree with Boston above. Neil makes wonderful leather goods. I actually use his Urban Pipe Bag as my main pipe carry http://www.smokinholsters.com/Urban%20Pipe%20Bags.html. I travel with it all the time. It has lots of room inside and can hold 6-8 pipes. I like it because it looks "manly", not like a purse. Kinda European in style.
Here's the bag at the airport last week. It's not a pipe roll, but similar genre.

Although living in Oz I'm from Europe and have long been used to carrying a man bag (not come across the term "murse" before) when not carrying a rucksack or briefcase for work.
