Picked up a couple bundles of Cohiba Ambars, i think these are going to age brilliantly … well for someone that didn’t just smoke then all right away. Also a little custom piece from Mr @JimInks via a trade where i sent him a mediocre cigar and he sent me art in return. I wasn’t going to post it but he was fine with it and art should be shared!

Those cigars look awesome, man.

I'm very pleased you like the drawing. I don't get to do that kind very often.

I like the Kirbyesque metal shadings. Nice stuff :)
Thank you. I intentionally made it "old school" because that was the Nick Fury I first saw as a child. And Jack Kirby was not only my favorite comic book writer/artist, but he was my inspirational hero, and we were good friends for many years. I have found memories of being a house guest of the Kirbys including swimming with Jack in his swimming pool. He was a fountain of creativity and a very kind, sweet human being. Since his passing in 1994, I doubt I've gone one day without thinking about him for some reason.

What a fantastic story. Yeah, he is a legend.
Me being Swedish, where the Comic industry is dead since decades, gave up on those dreams and went games as an illustrator.

Really wished I could've met Jack as well. I have a bunch of his stuff in omnibuses.

Wow! Absolute legend! You have no Idea how impressed I am by this Jim, lol. I was just thinking of Jack (King) Kirby myself, as I was looking at one of the most influential books of my early life, "How To Draw Comics The MARVEL Way", which has a lot of art by him. That book and "How To Draw Cartoons" by Jack Hamm were second only to the Holy Bible to me as a kid. I've worn it out and had to repurchase twice.

I need to find my Jack Hamm book now, I haven't seen it for a few years, this is what the cover looks like:

Hunted down the local B&M while on a trip to the other side of the state to see how I might be able to support them. Not a big selection of tins, but they did have this tin of Brown Sugar Flake, and a full complement of Lane aromatics. I chose three that I have seen much love for here on the forum. puffy

The mix ‘n’ match Peterson tin sale at P&C caught my eye, but I resisted. Then they dropped the 20% off flash sale, and they had me. I love double coupons! After tacking on a few others to get free shipping, I ended up with 8 tins for $80 shipped. Not too shabby!View attachment 219722
Have you had a chance to try the Presbyterian? I've been eyeballing that one.

I haven’t yet. It went to the back of the line. I’m trying hard to stay disciplined and only having half a dozen open tins at once and opening oldest tins first. “Trying” being the key word!
Shit. I could never. Piping is such a Id based thing for me. The Id wants what it wants and I indulge it. I have probably 50 mason jars in my “rotation”.
