Got a 2oz sample of Newminster 400 Superior Navy Flake in the mail today. Have to say it smells almost aromatic in the bag. Have not smoked it yet. Really hope it's not overly scented in the smoke. We shall see...

No it should not be! The tin note takes me by surprise everytime, lol. It doesn't really show itself in the smoke any

I got some of that crinkle flake as well, I’m aging it for a bit before touching based on what I’ve read. Are you gonna smoke one and age the other?
It’s already aged. Why wait? I say pop it open and enjoy.
Open one and smoke it then if I'm still "on it" i'll open the other. I have plenty of VAs in the flake / crumble / whatever format just wanted to try this particular year.
Found some Sir John's Flake Virginia at Story Teller, added a few tins of MB Virginia Flake to get free shipping. The tin limits are frustrating but I built a rather respectable cellar by adding small increments over time. These are 2 of 4 or 5 blends I'll be building up volume for the long haul. Missed the last sale of MB at TP, will add a couple of pounds of the Virginia Flake at the next one.
Gonna be hard not to call it Nancy Flake from now on!
