Just bought a pound of Fireside from Park-Lane Tobacconist. It comes highly recommended as a mild Burley.

Burleys are like hot sauce. You can always heat it up but you can't mellow it out. I will start with mild and step it up with knowns like Semois or Big n Burley to get the right level IF it is needed.

So I sent a bunch of pipes I rarely smoke to Smokingpipes.com and received a very generous store credit. Woke up in the middle of the night and I said to myself (because who else would I be talking to at that hour), "I should spend that!" And i did! Resulting in the following purchase:

Peterson: Dracula Sandblasted (150) Fishtail
Neerup: P. Jeppesen Harvest Moon 2019 Sandblasted Bent Apple with Silver
IMP Meerschaum: Smooth Rhodesian with Silver (with Case and Churchwarden)
Rattray's: 2000 Years Bog Oak Smooth (18) with Purple Stem (9mm)

Cornell & Diehl: Blockade Runner 8oz (4)
Solani: Aged Burley Flake - 656 50g (2)
Newminster: No.400 Superior Navy Flake 4oz
Kramer's: Blend for Cary Grant 4oz
Cornell & Diehl Tinned Tobacco: Donder 2oz

TAD/PAD satisfied, for now, at least.

It's that time of year where I try my luck getting tobacco from the U.S., taking advantage of the Christmas mail rush.

Friday the 13th was a good day.
The skin specialist diagnosed a nasty immune response to a red-back spider bite that's plagued me for two months.

Came home to find a pound of Butternut Burley at my front door. Yay!

Awesome (not the Red Back bite). I haven't tried ordering into Australia since they have changed the rules.

Thanks.
You may as well try. Customs gives a warning 1st offence. [Btw, bulk has a much higher chance of getting through rather than tins]
Not sure what the penalty is for 2nd offence but I guess I'll push my luck and find out.

I've got a pound of Sunrise/Early Morning Pipe Match on it's way and a very considerate member has arranged a pound of MB Vanilla Cream Flake that's not carried by my on-line tobacconist. Should be in the mail this week.
Next on my list is a pound of Count Pulaski.

Send me a PM if you need details. [No blabbing on an open forum :col: ]

Thanks for the info and offer for more details. I think being in WA may change things a little bit. I had to pay the duty on my last few orders before the ban. Truth be told I have enough squirreled away to keep me going for the rest of my life. It would just be nice to pick up an occasional order of something I found I like a lot or to try something new.

Good for you.

When we first heard that changes in the law were coming, posters on social media who claimed to be in the know, said it would only affect commercial quantity.
I had a bad feeling and ordered as much as I could afford. I've got a reasonable amount stashed but not sure if it's enough to last me since I smoke several bowls a day.

One out of 4-5 orders were intercepted. Those I put down as part of the cost and would just reorder

If there's a blend that you're just itching to try and don't mind paying the outrageous cost, there is an Aussie on-line tobacconist whose got a lot of blends that we don't normally see here.

The only reason I've got enough is that I don't smoke that much.

I know the website you mention and have bought Full Virginia Plug and St James Flake from them recently to try.

From east coast of AU I didn’t have any issues with 4nogs site orders. Bulk from other sites was picked up once in a while. Haven’t ordered anything post changes because I took a year break. So keen to hear current situation.

I mentioned this haul earlier but thought I'd throw up a pic for those folks who are visual like I am.

Nice haul. Blockade Runner is a bit too cloying for me, but I think it needs some breathing time. Also I dig the Dracula 150. It's one of their newer shapes in that line. I have an X105.

While I was going to take more of an advantage of C&D's sale, I was browsing and came across a beautiful Peterson Newgrange Spigot X105. I had the exact shape on my wish list for some time, and when one popped up, they were gone within a few days. This happened twice. Glad I held out because the sandblast on this one was superb compared to the last two that slipped through. .

I settled for the pipe and less tobacco but still picked up 8oz of C&D Redburn and also a free tin of Blitzen with the Peterson purchase. Apparently it's an aromatic plug.

The blast is very nice! The wait certainly seemed to be worth it.
