I haven't sold pipes through them (yet) but from everything posted here it's fair and painless and if you have pipes you send and don't agree with their offer they ship them back at their cost.

My experience with SP goes back over a decade, and I agree with everything already said.

It's as if every morning before work the SP shop is reminded by a Voice Over The Intercom to do things right, or you're in the wrong place. Their attitude is outstanding.

Now for a tangential interjection:

Another site sponsor here is equally recommendation-worthy. It's a much smaller operation---and only pipes are carried, not tobacco---but is a great place to find pipes that were selected by someone who is a world-class pipe maker. Both new and estates.

When I dealt with Debora at Smokingpipes.eu --- she actually works in the Peterson Pipe Store in Dublin !
She went out of her way to take multiple photos of the Vauen bent egg from every side and send them to me. Truly excellent service as well.

For years I preferred p&c due to the price. But now when I need pipes or tobacco, I look at sp.com. And in my mind, if they don't have what I want, then it doesn't exist. I don't even bother anywhere else.

However after @georged post, I took another look at blueroombriars and was quickly tempted at one of the pipes there. And it was an estate. And I don't smoke dead men's pipes , so that's saying something right there. I'll be keeping an eye out over there from now on.

When I became a silver VIP at the end of 2021, that's when I knew I had a problem. They keep me coming back. Not a lot of options for importing baccy to Canada. Fortunately I'm well stocked now. I've ordered from 4 different suppliers and SP are number 1 by a long shot. When it comes to pipes, forget about it. Also, customer service out of the ballpark. I bought this from them over 20 years ago. The other day the glass insert with the knocker fell out of my clumsy ass hands and broke. I haven't seen one like it anywhere since I bought this one from them. I was always going to buy another so I could have 2 and now 2 decades later I have none. This wasn't just any ashtray, this was the best pipe ashtray ever created. I am still mourning my loss and have been using one of my other 2 pipe ashtrays but they are not this one.
If SP liked me they would get some mfg to make them as I know all you guys would love it. No matter what size pipe you put into it they all fit perfect.

I have a 3 pipe ashtray with the Comoy(I don't own a Comoy pipe or smoke their tobacco but it held 3 pipes) logo on it that I bought from SP years ago and I have a plain 2 pipe ashtray that is black but it is too small for some pipes so it is rarely used.

I can't believe it has been over 2 decades that I have been doing business with SP and I was never once not satisfied with their service or their products. At least I still have my 7 pipe suitcase I bought from them around 20 years ago as well.

Say what you will about any retailer, many of them are great, but Smokingpipes customer service is not only exemplary in their industry, but in business in general.

They have some IT kinks to deal with during small batch releases lately thanks to this hoard of zombies we call a community, but their customer service is IMO unrivaled.

You can replace that ashtray on ebay for between $10-30; or try used office furniture stores ...they used to be popular conference room ashtrays. That looks to be a standard 6" cigar ashtray with a cork glued to it. Just tryin' to help ...

I've been enjoying SP's customer service for years. They brought a pipe to a pipe show to save me the cost of shipping. When they mistakenly posted an offer of a free tin with the purchase of another tin (actually it was a tin with a particular pipe as I recall) they made good on the offer. These are just examples.
