My only pipe with this style of blast isn't very craggy, but I actually love the effect of the subtle blast over birdseye. It's a Briar Bird by Jason Cochey, who I believe is unfortunately not making pipes anymore.

Sandblasting end grain can result in all sorts of surprising textures, some dramatic, others not.
It's nearly always interesting, though.

That one turned out amazing. I love how a sandblast almost turns a pipe into a "fossil" of sorts.
My Musicò pipes have cool blasts. Hard to do justice in photos. The blasts look different from different angles and lighting conditions.
