I was not looking for one, but I spotted this anyway:
ebay: Dunhill Pipe Rack
Looks to me like someone slapped a Dunhill sticker on the bottom of a generic rack. Not accusing the seller of anything - but the label doesn't look like Dunhill quality to me. Maybe I am wrong.
Either way, the rack has lots of interest - clearly due to that little sticker.
Thoughts? Opinions?

My thoughts, my opinions... That's a generic-ass pipe rack with a Dunhill sticker slapped on the bottom. It's not just the label that doesn't seem to be of Dunhill quality. The rack itself doesn't look like something they would put their name on.

I don't remember ever seeing a Dunhill rack. There's a Peterson rack that has a unique shape, wood with proper labeling. This looks like stained pine which I doubt they would use. For something in that condition they'd also have a box IMO.

Whether it is a "real" Dunhill pipe rack or not it is a good deal for $29 if the condition, from the photo, is good.

I agree with that.
However, I do agree it seems someone may have taken a logo from a pipe sock or box and affixed it to the bottom. It doesn't even seem to be center. I also haven't seen much other Dunhill products without there name physically on it, not just a sticker.

Dude..I would grab that in a heart beat. Don't get to many general looking pipe racks with a dunhill sticker slapped on the bottom of them. Oh wait, I could do that with my pipe rack for same cost of printing out the label, cutting it out and gluing the label on the bottom of my own pipe rack.

I think it's genuine. I'm no expert, but all of the Dunhill pipe racks I've seen for sale had similar stickers. Like this one:

I suspect that these type of items were carried by Dunhill stores as a way to round out their product offerings. They were probably made by other manufacturers, not Dunhill -- at least I've never heard of Dunhill's "pipe rack factory" before. So, to Harris's point, about crappy products -- Dunhill may not have made them, but they appear to have carried them in their shops from time to time.
All that is to say, even if it is a genuine "Dunhill" pipe rack, Dunhill in this case simply means that paper label is on it and it was once carried in a Dunhill shop.

Here's an older one with a similar label.

Great find pitchfork! I am sooo surprised. Either all of the ones you found are fakes, or Dunhill skips high quality when it comes to pipe racks (or at least pipe rack labels). The plot thickens...

Six, for a second, I thought maybe I was just being duped (over and over again), but it would be bizarre for dozens of sellers around the world to use the same Dunhill label on their fake "Dunhill" pipe racks. Almost every one I've seen like that had a felt bottom, while ones with wooden bottoms had a gold Dunhill logo printed onto the wood.

I agree. Very surprised.
Why does it have to be a dunhill a rack is a rack.
In this case I have to agree. There's a "romance" with a name brand - and the right side of my brain gets that, but my brain's left side refuses to spend an exorbitant amount of money for it.

Someone lucky bidder will be giddy with joy having won this "Dunhill pipe rack" for only $50. []
Ha, only $35! (It was you, wasn't it, Roth? )

Dunhill shops used to have any and all kinds of racks in them, I wouldn't be surprised if that was genuine.
