Amazing, literally less than 20 min ago, i opened a package that included 2 tubs of granger and then read this post. The tubs are much bigger than i expected and this seems like a great idea. I may be the 2nd one that does this now. Still a newb though, no codgery here

Two Tubs! A man of Faith I see! Hope you enjoy them!

Codgery.... happens. It’s strange being the same age as old people.

I’ve heard good things about the Red bag if you enjoy Burley. Uncased and tasty. They call it Rich Taste I believe. At $9.99 for a 16 ounce bag.... might make for good “pipe storage”. Lol

Also could be a good option to store valuables like a Rolex (well if I had one)--I doubt burglars would steal bags of tobacco these days.

Puff,
A Timely analogy: A Rolex is a watch, that due to masterful marketing, has become a symbol for the faux affluent. But the affluent scoff at Rolex and would as soon wear one as drive a 3-Series BMW. You’re more likely to spot a PATEK on the wrist of the wealthy. Or even a Timex! (How do you think ? they got so wealthy?) -It’s not by caring how they appear to others.

I shoot a Browning Citori XT for Trap alongside guys that are so far into the hobby that they shoot Krieghoff’s. The low end of these start at $30,000.00. But there is no shooting advantage over a $2000 Browning Citori. Gentleman, a shotgun is a single cylinder engine, a tube of smooth steel.

I own a Rolex, a retirement gift. It’s a watch. It tells time.

My point, pipes burn tobacco and watches tell time.

Smoke what you like to smoke and smoke it in what you like.. find your pleasure.

Rolex was just a generic example. I find them gaudy. They're no Pateks.

Your Citori is a great gun. My buddy had a Crossover for years. Your gun breaks clays just a good as K-guns and P-guns. The maintenance is also more economical and you don’t need to take it in every year to get looked over like K-guns. I fully agree about the using, shooting and smoking what you like not what other people do or think you should.

In regards to tobacco, everyones palate is different. One of the older gentleman who taught me the basics of pipe smoking only smoked OTC blends and even tried more bougie blends but always came back to OTC. The smell of Velvet, SWR, PA, Granger CH will always have fond memories.

Life’s short, enjoy it...

Ok, I've searched hi and low over here and I can not find this "sacred" granger.
I know not what I'm talking about but our beloved resident reviewer, grades it one star on the review site.
Still, I feel I have to try this legendary spoke off tobacco.
Is there a similar that's available over here or does anyone know of a UK base firm that can supply it for me?

Granger has never really been on radar, but suddenly I feel like I should order some radar.
SoddenJack,
GRANGER may not be your thing. But like Pitt n Pipes just said, “Life is short.” He’s is on the money. I always thought getting old would’ve taken longer....

But along the journey of tasting the myriad of tobacco blends, which is arguably better than the destination, it’s a undeniable comfort to return to one or two favorites and a blessing to find that “one blend” that you never seem to tire of and always saatisfies.

It’s liberating because once you’ve stocked up on THAT one... you’re FREE. (Insert Mel Gibson yelling, Freeeedom -here) you’re Free to continue the tobacco sampling journey.

For me. GRANGER is the smokin part. Sampling tobacco is my hobby.

Good for storing pipes and keeping the wife happy too.

Codger Life.

Don’t let my passion sway you, please.

These American OTC’s are many. There’s no shortcut I’m afraid. You try each and one or more may click, and one may sing. Or not.

I don’t care for Velvet or Half n Half or Captain Black Or Mixture 79 or.....

To “my tastes”

Carter Hall is sublime but mild.

Granger - enough bespoke.

Prince Albert - Nutty, Cocoa and also mild.

I used to love Edgeworth RR and still have an ounce left in a jar. YUM. I recently purchased a $43 can of the Lane RR. I don’t find it the same and am disappointed.

Again, two tobaccos ever sang to me, both one note songs. Carter Hall and Granger.

I prefer Carter Halls flavor, but Granger doesn’t make me search for the flavor and so edges out Carter Hall (an excellent blend) for me.

Well then, Brut666...

Kent? Birthplace of the Canterbury Tales! I was an English Major, forgive me.

We are each displaced Englishmen on this side of the pond.

How difficult would it be for you to receive a small care package? Taste of the America’s?

I’d be happy to send you a pouch of Carter Hall, and bowl or three of some others to try.

No pipeman should ever go through life, without having done so.

Then, you could go to the Grand Architect without murmuring on your final rest, about those Damned American Burleys you didn’t get to taste.

PM, me, Sir.

? I'm in.
Thank you kind sir, an English major no less. I shall have to watch my stride for I am a humble mechanic and thick as two short planks. I was thinking of arranging an uk-us tobacco swap shop in the new year. Maybe we could test run it?

What’s the situation with customs and tobacco? Never mailed anything, except to Canada
