Rattray’s Yule Pipe comments

Update:
Still no joy.
The Returns Department at Smoking Pipe US has had my Yule Pipe since Monday (technically since Saturday when it was delivered but I'm giving them two days because it was a weekend.) Still no word from them.

The new Yule Pipe I ordered from Smoking Pipe EU on Jan. 6, finally made its way to the US on Jan. 11 and since Jan. 14, the tracking says "2025-01-14 14:01 UNITED STATES, Your item is being sorted by the receiving post"

When I asked Smoking Pipes EU when I could expect to receive delivery, I was told 12 working days. I'm going to be real disappointed if it doesn't arrive by Jan. 22.

The smooth Yule Pipe was boxed up and shipped back to smokingpipes in South Carolina. Then I just have to wait for the refund or store credit.

In the meantime, I have ordered a new Rattray's Yule Pipe from smokingpipes.eu so I have a questions to anyone else that has ordered a pipe from them to be shipped to the US.

How long did it take for your shipment to arrive?
While the shipping label was created, until the carrier actually has the package in hand they can't provide an expected delivery date.

I ordered mine through SP EU and it took about 2.5 weeks to get the pipe. I sent mine back to them via USPS and tracking is still showing that it's in Dublin, where it has been for a few days. I will email Hope tomorrow to see if they have received it yet.

EDIT: The 2.5 weeks in transit was also possibly due to me ordering it at the beginning of the holiday season when shipping was a bit more hectic.

Well, at least smoking pipes US emailed me this afternoon to let me know I am being given a store credit for the full purchase price plus my cost for shipping it back to them.

There's been no movement today for my pipe from SP EU (Would SPEU be pronounced "spew?). It is still somewhere in the US being "sorted".

So, it's Tuesday, Jan. 21 and still no pipe from SPEU. It made it to the US on Jan. 11 and arrived in Dallas on Jan. 14.
It hasn't been tracked since then. It is about 500 miles and I have made that drive in under 12 hours. I guess they are sending it by horse and buggy.

Sadly that is life in the shipping world. I try to do as little with shipping from Mid Dec to Mid Jan. Until now it has still been holiday shipping. Huge backlogs and a total mess. I run a mail order internet biz and I try to keep it to a minimum during those dates. Worldwide the whole system is a mess and stuff sits or gets shipped wrong, even to the wrong country. I currently have a package in Scottland that supposed to be in the Caymen islands.

So at least your pipe is in the right coutry. Most likely it will find its way to you slowly.

Well, it is now Saturday, JAN 25.
USPS "Un-informed" Delivery/Tracking shows my pipe is still "In Transit". According to the online contact I've had with them, they say it was last scanned on Jan. 20 (even though I have sent them a screenshot showing it was scanned on Jan. 15).
Don't know if I will ever see the pipe.
