I got an email from Rad saying he had 2 new pipes on his site, so of course I had to look. This Lovat is the exact same measurements as the last one I bought and I just loved the look so I grabbed it. It is a nice sized group 5 and weighs only 48 grams. The shank treatment is spalted Tamarind and it has a vulcanite stem.

All these Rads that you have and keep posting pictures of are doing a number on me. I think I'm going to break down soon and end up with one myself. Gorgeous pipe, Harris!

Those are sweet pipes. Thank God cigrmaster keeps scooping them up. Lol. You do have a beautiful collection brother. Enjoy the smokes.

Very nice. I like the shank extension. I love Lovats/Liverpools/Canadians/Lumermans, though I'm more partial to the ovular shank of Canadians and Lumbermans.

Congratulations Harris on your new pipe. You were right regarding that pipes do not last long once word is out that they are available. An excellent holiday weekend gift to yourself.

Thanks for the nice comments guys, it is appreciated.
kasbah, I think once you get one Rad, you won't stop there, they are like Lay's potato chips, can't just have one.
dpkrause, sign up for his email list and you will get notified as soon as they hit his site. He had another on on his site earlier that I loved, but it was over my price threshold. It is a really unique Rad, I have not seen another like it from him.
Uber, I like all those shapes you mentioned, but like the round shank of the Lovat best. I have a oval shaped shank on an Ashton Dublin that looks great like that.

I think I like the oval shank because aside from on Canadians and Lumberman, you don't see oval shanks as often. I haven't bought a pipe a bit(last one was a specially made PM Forum pipe), but I think the next one will be another Canadian or maybe a Lumberman.

Another beautiful pipe from a pipe maker I haven't heard of yet. Thanks for posting the pictures and keeping us up to date on different makers.

Yea I got that same email. You must have snagged it quick! A nice classically shaped Rad is definitely on my short list. Another great score Harris. Very nice!

Thanks guys, the nice comments are appreciated.
mthanded, Take a look at Rad's site and look at his gallery, he makes some beautiful pipes and his prices are extremely competitive. He is considered one of the top carvers in the world right now. His pipes smoke as good if not better than people charging 3 and 4 times his prices.
gwtwdbss, I noticed the email after 17 minutes of receiving it and it took me 1 minute to look at it and pull the trigger. I was glad I was at my computer.
