Given the life he lead, he outlived all expectations. I'm a big Sabbath fan from the 1970's (solo Ozzy not so much).
RIP Ozzy, you gave it your all!
RIP Ozzy, you gave it your all!
This is basically what I was going to say. Ozzy was a unique character and I am a huge fan of the first 5 Black Sabbath albums. I can only imagine what it must have been like to hear and see Sabbath in 1969. There had just never been anything like them.Given the life he lead, he outlived all expectations. Have you checked out the Nativity in Black cover albums? My favorite cover albums from some "super groups" of metal members (AL Jourgeson with others, Rob Halford with others) and bands (White Zombie, Static X, Pantera, Slayer, Megadeth) with insane artwork and quotes from the cover band members about particular songs.RIP Ozzy. Growing up I was not allowed to listen to music other than Christian and whatever my grandparents played, usually Dean, Frank, Mario Lanza, Connie Francis and such. I would sneak down into the basement and play my Uncle’s records and Masters of Reality was the first record I put on that hit me. I’ll never forget it. It sparked a love of Heavy Metal that is still in me. The influence that Sabbath had on rock, what can be said.
I have not, sounds like I have some new music to check out. Thanks for the infoHave you checked out the Nativity in Black cover albums? Your posts reminds me of one of the quotes where they found a family member's records and got into Sabbath.
I got rid of all my CD pamphlets and regret getting rid of the two Nativity ones the most.
