Plenty of people post purchases.
My mind is made up that there is more or less enough to go around.

My mixed feelings for sure.
Everyone everywhere has an opinion

& that's OK.

If I intend to impress, an item of rarity can be found there, but I think it might be better shared.

What we would gain if we all were so lucky.
I don't know.
Let's think about that for a bit.
Look, we're all loving the "tobacco" experience.

Still with companies going out of business.
Everyone is hoarding.
No..."cellaring".
Don't deny it.

You might be thinking, that's not me.
Or that it's not a lot.
Understanding this is why I am posting.

See, it's about a community, all of us share the joy of smoking.
We have at least that as a bond
Everyone of us, I would imagine, would greet one another with kindness if we met smoking a pipe.
At least we would give each other a nod and look of approval.
To finish the rant, I can only hope you are lucky enough to realize that.
Enjoy the post and hurry up, I'll do what I can.
Don't worry if you didn't get it, it was never meant to last.

In the more than 25 years I've been smoking a pipe, tobacco has slowly but steadily become more expensive and harder to obtain. Buying more isn't stockpiling, it's just saving. Even so, my stash would last me a year or two, and I'm not a big smoker. Besides, I live in a large urban center with access to several tobacconists. If I lived farther away, it would make even more sense to have more tobacco. For someone who smokes three or more pipes a day (not me), what seems like hoarding is only 12 or 24 months of stock.

I think you missed the point. As far as I can tell his point was to be generous and give away some hard to get tobacco, and stir the pot along the way. It seems he cleverly accomplished both.
I can assure you there was no point. Other than I am bored and I wacked some lines together to make a little poem to amuse myself. There's nothing wrong with that and among other things, that is one of the things a forum is for. As for poetry, the whole point about obscure lines is that there is no point. It's like believing John Lennon was trying to say something meaningful in I am the Walrus. Lennon, by his own admission, was just throwing out lines of sound that he found interesting. Meaning, if there is to be any, is brought by the reader, not the poet. At least with this genre of poetry.

Not that we can now, but if you were to take the Way Back Machine to when the OP introduced himself, you would find that the bretious manner of writing that began this thread was evident then in his introduction. When I was in my 20s, I would have found it interesting. Perhaps a C. He can do better. It's a style of poetry that is more demanding than it looks, and more challenging to write than many might suppose. I would love to publish a few of mine written in that style but I would get banned, LOL.

The capitalized letters at the beginning of the lines which had them, read vertically, spelled out a kind offer to share some of Sutliff's final output, "Stewed", which was only available to those who went to the final show at which the company was represented.

I hope this clears up any misunderstanding, because, forgive me, it's becoming rather painful to watch.

Ok, so the OP was worthy of ridicule... but now @telescopes has stepped up onto soapbox...

Which is it, you are assured that he has "no point," or he has posted poetry worthy of your judgement?
Why does bad poetry being posted here piss you off so much?

I don't recall saying I was pissed off. I am not. I rather enjoyed it. Of course, if you want me to live inside your head, that is your prerogative, lol, but I would hope you have better things to do.

It is just that you missed the whole point of his post, by focusing on the merits of what you called, "his poetry." But, carry on. Ha ha. You probably wouldn't like the inside of my head.

He's a big boy. I am sure he can speak for himself if he disagrees. But my beer is getting warm so ... adios.

Oh, duh! Now I see it! Completely sailed over the top of my head first time I glanced at it. Thanks for pointing it out to the intellectually challenged. And I think you must have had a typo or autocorrect, as it is Sweated not Stewed, but that’s nitpicking. Thanks friend!

That was brilliant
How you stirred the pot
And
Not only that, but were generous also
Know that you are appreciated by some and…..

You should come to a pipe show where there is plenty of sharing of hard to find tobaccos
On the other hand this is much more fun to read the silly responses.
Understanding that even those who didn’t “get it” or “want it” like myself still appreciated it. it was a fun thread to read.
