Have you seen new Comoy pipes or tobacco for sale this year?I have talk to people from Chacom from Europe at the show and they mentioned some large company bought Comoy recently and they are not interested in making pipes right now or no more...they mentioned that SGawith got a similar problem..so who knows.....
No, but I've seen a host of new Barlings in the last fortnight, it's the same company that owns both brands.

I have heard it personally at the pipe show...They told me about Comoy as well..It may be a different company who bought Comoy's but they mentioned SG got same problems ..some info you just can not find online.....
Oh, a pipe show. Well, that's different. Don't believe most of what you hear at pipe shows.

Some information is very difficult to find on line, unless you're willing to pay to subscribe to specialist sources. But finding the answer to the Gawith question took less than a minute. All I did was type "Samuel Gawith History" and that led to the article I posted.

K&K owns the rights to the Barling IP. The pipes look like they're made in Germany. They also own the Rattray's IP and manufacture Rattray's pipes.

Evidently, according to Iwan Ries, Comoy's are currently made in France. I have no idea who currently owns them.

I was at a gun auction the other day and heard that McClelland bought Comyoy.

That would explain why the current crop of Barlings have 9mm filters. I don't know how I got the impression they were under the Cadogan umbrella. Though the definitely own the Comoy brand.

Looking at their website I get the impression that they're moving out of the pipe business. Perhaps that's the source of the rumour.

I went to the Cadogan website as well and saw no mention of pipes, just their property business.

Sometimes, I marvel at your patience.

Comoy's pipes are owned by Cadogan Comoys Pipes - Smokers - https://cadogan-gifts.co.uk/smokers/comoys-pipes

The tobacco was produced by STG, a big cigar company. You can check that on Tobacco Reviews. They may, or may not, have ceased production of the tobacco, but they have nothing to do with the pipes.

You, of course, know better.

You could not get SG tobaccos for at least a year so they did evidently had some problems...I hope with this new ownership they will be more available..
G&H and SG have different distributors. G&H at one point lost their US distribution and it was some time before they arranged for Laudisi to take over.
That’s why there was no G&H available for quite a while.
Unless things have changed, SG has different distributor.
