Thing is the regular shoplifters are fully aware of this so counter the CCTV by simply wearing a mask then just sally in to the shops en masse and help themselves knowing full well they will get away with it.

Minor update on the cheese heist in the UK:

They are theorizing that the cheese would be hard to sell inside of Europe, Australia, or the UK. It's also saying that cheese stealing is apparently a thing in Western Europe. Maybe with the US we have so much dairy that it's not worth stealing as much.
