Pat, wonderful write-up! I felt like I was almost there.
After the 3rd picture I started to hyper-ventilate and my head was spinning in a circle to see everything! If you had as good a time as I did just looking at the pictures and reading about it, you will be talking about it for years!
Great looking pipes, enjoy them in good health!

What can I say that Pat hasn't already written. His eloquently written post (my polite Canadian way of saying hoky f@*k dude thats a long post) pretty much covers it all. So all I will say is this, if you haven't made it out to Chicago then you absolutely have to. It's not about the commerce, its about the human interaction. From random people met at the show to the meeting of fellow forum member Allan and his friend Roger. While the pipes are remarkable they pale in comparison to the people.
To my travel companions, all jokes about lactose intolerance aside, I couldnt have asked for better room mates and fellow fiist timers. Life long friends and hopefully long time travellers to the show.
And now to the pictures. First up is the total haul

Next is Pat looking a little sleep deprived and star struck sitting next to Per Jensen

This is what greeted show goers as we entered the hall, note Lee Erk in the back right

Now the Pipes! This is my Savinelli Bing's Favourite

My first Peterson, an Ashford Cumberland 03

My first Dunhill purchase, an estate (I think 2000ish) Cumberland Group 1 billiard

Finally my first Artisan carved pipe, a Ryan Alden sandblasted straight Dublin, this pipe is incredibly light, the button is the best I've ever put in my mouth and the draw is smooth and open, could not be happier. If you are looking for an artisan pipe, go look at Ryan's pipes.

And finally, the item that will force me to buy a new vehicle after 11 hours with the lactose twins

Best thread ever.
Seriously, this is the best show report I've ever read.
Top shelf.
Made me feel like I was there.

It was a great summary of the show. One thing it really taught me: I should throw some shirt recommendations in with my next Rad Davis pipe order.

One other key learning from the trip?
Dress code? We don't need no stinkin' dress code!
One has to really try to be underdressed at a pipe show.

Since damnyak is not in the thread title I can only assume Johnny large tin meant that I was fluffy time's and his big adventure...which therefor makes me feel a bit uncomfortable.. ;)
I will definitely post a couple shot of my hull tomorrow!

Dude! Totally unintended and not the case... I was fighting three things when I wrote this post:

1) maximum character length in the title

2) that I had chatted with Brian about posting a shared thread

3) that I didn't know if you'd want to post your own or a shared thread
I'm sorry if I missed the mark here and have made you feel excluded. That's my bad.

@Pruss.... no no no... I was just having fun with the words brother, trying to figure out how to squeak in some shots of my hull that I picked up. Totally cool.
Being called "Big Adventure" might be better then "Double Goofy"... Nah! lol!

Whew. That's good to hear. I like "Big Adventure" for you, and I think you could wear it as well as "Double Goofy". I already have wheels spinning, planning next year's adventure.

Pat, just 2 years to go, and then my wife and I fully expect you to come back to Washington with your family. If Brian can come, the more the merrier.
By the way, Brian, those are great looking pipes. I'm not the envious sort, but I just might have felt a twing.
