Proper Tin-Opening Technique

Here's a ridiculous question: What's the best way to open a (sealed) tin? Whatever it is, I have a sneaking suspicion that I've been doing it wrong for years. I've almost always bought in bulk.

Flat-head screwdriver? Feel free to make fun of me.

A quarter works great.

I usually use a jackhammer. If that doesn't work I have a turbo charged auger at the ready.

Yes I did lie awake. A quarter sounds good.

I've got a 3-pt-hitch mounted auger but it's not turbo.

Fingernail or a coin works for me. Once you break the vacuum the top twists off easily.

I seem to remember there being an online course offered by a forum member on this specific issue. I’m not well versed in all the various nuances of tin opening, so I normally revert to bulk blends.

I typically just use whatever coin I grab out of my pocket first. Or sometimes I use a plasma cutter:

I listen patiently to what the tin is saying and acknowledge that it probably had a long day at work, probably has a headache, and the other tins make it feel fat. After a while it loosens a up and I get what I want without forcing it open like the younger bucks above.
