I presume most men who smoke pipes enjoy the idea that it is a male thing. Puff-puff. Still, I can't think of a
single thing about smoking a pipe that is gender specific, beyond image, which is a function of mind and
attitude. Guys, a bit of semantic info, just so you know; a fair percent of women, maybe a majority, recoil
at the term "lady," or, "ladylike," etc. Why you ask. It is, to them, a classist term referring to and distinguishing
the gentry, but it also puts women on a pedestal and deprives them of their political and intellectual equality.
I slip, sometimes, but I understand the point. Millicent Fenwick is something. I would have liked to have had coffee
with her, and a pipe. Forum women pipe smokers, correct me if/where I'm wrong.
