Preventing Hot Smoke

I've always been of the mindset where I'd rather a little too wet so I can dry it to a level I enjoy. That said, I've never had a problem with properly stored C&D bulks. Pack half a hair tighter then sip slowly.

Smoke as fast as you can and get it over with before the tobacco knows what hit it and it won't have time to activate the tongue bite defense mechanism.

Where possible you want rather dry tobacco and then smoke it slowly. Be sure not to pack your pipe so tight that it is hard to draw.
