I used to work in a Harley shop, first in parts then in shipping. Most of the fancy do-dads you pick off the wall are made in Taiwan, China and elsewhere with not much attention to quality. It's not a bad thing to keep your Harley "all-Harley" and spend your extra $$ on perfomance mods if you're gonna spend it.
I always got on the owner's nerves because people would walk in and say, "I love that Triumph, is it for sale?"

It is an 07 FXDB with the TC88 - she's been opened up so as to allow her to breathe. Still miss my Sporty. hmmm... strange shadow, not a head print(but that would be something).

This isn't mine but my last motorcycle was a 97 Buell S1 Lightening. Sadly, Harley killed off its best divisions with the death of Buell and the selling of MV Augusta. Harley as a brand is going to die off unless they learn how to reach past their current image and manage to target a broader range of riders.

The Buell was an awesome if not a little odd bike. I loved it but it was just terrible in an urban environment being so torquey, I almost never got out of 2nd gear so I sold it and bought a 500cc Piaggio BV500 which was perfect for around town yet could easily hit 100 on the highway.

The down side to the scooter is that I was riding it nearly every where instead of my bicycle so I sold my scoot for a couple of bicycles which I've been riding regularly.

Baron, I thought about having it "bored and stroked" as they say.

I may yet; but, I don't want to change the appearance in any way...

That's just me.
There is a shop not far from here that has a "mechanical genius".

He wants to "double my horse power" with out changing the looks, and said he'd prove it on the dyno.

I've seen some his bikes... beautiful and powerful... and, too damn expensive.
Everybody loves a good rear end: 8)

@hauntedmyst I really don't understand why they killed Buell. IMO That was just a window to get killed by Trimph and Ducati. I know V-Rods are dropping like flies to Ducati's Diavel And Victory and Triumph are stealing Road King riders left and right with their 1600+CC power cruisers. There may be a RTZ (Return to Zero) inHD's future. I hope they can survive. AMF won't bail them out this time.

Here's mine, a 1989 Honda VFR400 NC30. Imported from Japan but is a scalled down replica of the mighty RC-30 (those go for silly money now) Beautifully built and the V4 engine sounds awesome with the (ahem) road legal non race can (honest officer).

I've had it for a couple of years now and am hankering for a change so next on the list would be the Triumph Daytona 675R :worship:

JuleScholling, Wow, that VFR400 is incredible. I've heard they are very uncomfortable to ride (my nephew had an RC30), but are literally a race bike. I gather you are not in the US?

Here is where I miss my America. A pipe buddy on another board needs some Samuel Gaewith which is available just 40 minutes up the road in PA. If I still had the America, I'd just use that as excuse to hop on and shoot up to the shop (Boswells). But now I'll have to wait until I'm heading that way in the car. I love the MGB and riding with the wife (she quit riding no the bike, hence the sale) but I sure miss that America.
Baronsmedi: if you haven't checked out the "BonnevilleAmerica.com" forums, definitely do that. They're a great bunch of folks and quite helpful/knowledgeable in the America/Speedy. I miss them as well. They're sort of like this board, but with bikes!

I like those race bikes as well. When someone finally realizes I am worth a lot of money just to have around, I would like one of those big red Ducatis and an old school cafe racer. Oh, and a Kawaka Z100 like Jim Goose rode, and a.....

Here is my 2007 Suzuki M109 LE. Looks a bit different now, this was right after I got it a few years ago. This is my 9th bike not including off-road stuff. I love it, but wish I could find a windshield that didn't look terrible on it.

SSjones - I'm not exactly a big chap so i dont find it too bad but if your anything approaching 6ft then your pretty crumpled on it and wont be able to ride for long. Definetly not a long distance ride though ;-)

Yea the bike is pretty much a race bike with loads of nice parts on it, i love it but those wheels are a pain in rear to keep clean lol.
Nope i'm based in the UK so the twisty roads we got are ideal for a sportsbike

Reviewing my posts from last night... thinking cap not on. She's a 96 of course, not an 88.
As much as I liked Buells myself - all you need to know about H-D's divestment in '09 is here. Growth in Asia and Europe for the HD brand seems likely to keep the brand lively for quite some time. There are more riders with more money in those markets all the time (well, in Asia anyway). Increased competition from high-quality domestics and imports should keep them focused.

Is that Kawasaki's sport/touring/off-road bike?
Yep, as wannafly noted, it's sort of the Kawasaki answer to the V-Strom. I rode a little Ninja 250 for about five years, great little bike, and finally upgraded to the Versys, which I absolutely love.
