I was in Shreveport, Louisiana last night doing a travel lecture. I was outside the hotel later, smoking a Balkan blend in a very sexy new billiard that I took with me to help speed up the break in. I was inundated with people stopping to ask about the great smell and the pipe. It happens not infrequently. Sometimes it's annoying when you want to be by yourself, but last night it was fine because it was mostly women! And, there was a 20-something year old nerdy dude that reminded me of myself and he was definitely interested. He took notes and I know in my heart he will be a pipe smoker. You can just tell sometimes. I am going to send him a pipe and some tobacco and get him introduced proper. I've done that a few times when I feel the person is truly interested.
