I recall a time when pipe smoking was welcome in public, cafes, pubs, TV ( no talk show w/o at least one pipe smoker), Movies etc. Celebs and politicians were seen smoking pipe. I talk about the mid 1960s onwards. At that time ‘Stanwell' started a big successful advertising campaign in the German speaking area of Europe. The short slogan was soon known everywhere and became a countless times repeated phrase among the contemporaries.

It’s hilarious how hard they pushed that angle back then. Just smoke a pipe and she’s all yours, hell they all are. Smoking a pipe is a powerful, powerful thing.

I 've smoked this tobacco several times, when it was sold in square tins. I always wondered why it smelled like pineapple but didn't taste like this fruit. What's your experience?
