Dear all,
this is my first post here. I'm not a smoker (yet) so i guess nothing to write about myself in the introductory thread..
but I'd love to identify my grandfathers pipe as well as have it professionally restored.
He was born in 1916, never regularly smoked but I remember him mentioning that as a young man it was a must to have a pipe when going to cafe or club with friends those days. So this one was his 'social ticket'. He used the pipe in late 1930s in then Czechoslovakia so probably a Continental European origin.
Apart from Bruyère Garantie it says Ba*y. Something like Baby or Baky.. Had no luck with Google, Chat GPT says there was a Baky brand but I'm not convinced. It is smaller (14cm / 5.5in), slim pipe that I want to occasionally use once it is restored (broken tenon).
Thank you for any remarks or suggestions.
All the best,
Michal
