Sorry to read of your experience. I've only ever ordered tobacco from P&C, so I cannot speak from experience. However, seeing the post from Bob is definitely encouraging. Fast response time for what seems to be a bit of re-ordering.
Hope all is well in the end.

Not much to add really... so why am I writing this
I have ordered tobacco and cigars from P&C and customer service has always been excellent. I have exchanged some emails with Sarah on specific pipes I was interested in, and she was pleasant enough via email.
And I applaud Bob G. for jumping in on this and taking the feedback like a big boy
I will remain a customer there for sure.

I just got my shipment from P&C and the tobacco came packaged wonderfully. On the other hand, the 3 MM pipes I ordered (1 spool, 1 washington, 1 hardwood) were all in one box with no paper or padding at all. When I pulled the box out it rattled. There were a couple chunks out of the spool and pieces of cob in the box. I won't send it back or make a stink because it's not worth my time. I know they were cheap pipes but charge me 25¢ more an have an employee put a piece of paper in the dang box. I will probably not order another pipe from them, just tobacco if I can't get it anywhere else. I'm glad I found this out before I tried to get the money together for their Dunhill deal in April.

I'll admit to P&C.c being a main tobacco seller to me, but I've also ordered two Savinellis from them. Both pipes arrived intact, but I will vouch for the baccy being packed way more securely than the pipes. Pipes both arrived in a sleeve in their own little boxes inside the main order's box. No stuffing or dunnage in the pipe box, but like I said. They made it here intact. Had they not, there would have been complaints and potential replacements.
But what's a a man to do without a decent B&M??
Gamble, that's what.

I hear ya on no B&M Mo. Yep, when trying a "new" vendor I roll the dice and see what happens. If I want to have a better chance of exactly what to expect I go through Marty Pulver, smokingpipes.com, 4noggins, or pipestud (ebay). There are still more sellers to try out so my research into the best will continue for a while.
