I'm glad you like the peasant paintings. Just like there were dozens of Harnett's and Peto's in American museums, there are dozens of van Ostade and David Teniers the Younger paintings in the British Royal collection and the Scottish National Museum.

You know, in the US we have lithographs of these artists. Royal families get the original paintings. Unlike when some of them were bought or donated, they are, now, really available to the whole country. How cool is that? The peasants can see if they really look like the Jack Kirby on Prozac characters these two guys cook up.

And that, is why archy and I get along. Don't really understand it, but she sent me a stick and a stone, and I liked 'em both. Thanks ed.

^ Why are all those guys in the smoking room if only one of them is smoking? Think he's smoking Molte Dolce?

And the peasant interior. Whatever happened to don't eat where you crap? Apparently that doesn't apply to kids in this household.
And, ed, that Regiment of Hussars is a great find. I'm still chuckling over it
I was amused by the Eastern Soldiers too. That bowl is really close to a bunch of cannonballs on, what looks like, an awfully windy spot. Well, like John Lee Hooker says, boom boom boom boom

archy, the Hussars picture looks like the horse was photoshopped six inches above the ground. Tell me you see that too. Again, Thank You Mr. Ed.

And that horse looks like he's saying, "Oh God, the rest of the herd is watching me. I'll never live this down."

Just delightful ed. The peasant paintings make me happy. I would so party with those dudes. Nice boobs on the chick on the right, too. *sigh* Yeah, I'm a guy.
