A new selection of friends (or dis-owning a family member if that was the case) is in order here. Whoever did that needs some serious help. I'm not a violent person in any way but that type of destruction would test me and I don't know that I'd pass that test. Don't screw with my family, dogs, guns or pipes, period. I hope you get to rebuild your collection and never have to concern yourself with this type of poor behavior again.

But, obviously, there's something deeper going on here with such a violent act. (It simply doesn't matter if these burners are Dr. Grabows or Dunhills.)

Hey guys, archy (claypipes) mentioned it in one of her earliest posts, but she is the girl, her husband is the dude. She is getting new pipes and extra tobacco from forum members. Unfortunately, we can't do much about the fight and it's reasons, except to say we're sorry she's going through some issues.
She's apparently a 'happy smoker', so we wish happiness returns and she can get back to smoking soon.

The only time I've witnessed this kind of display among grown-ups was when my mother-in-law felt that the only way to get her point across to my father-in-law was to go outside and break all of the cds that he had in the car. She has bi-polar disorder, so that's what I chalked the episode up to. Thankfully, with counseling, their relationship is on much better footing today than it was then.

What ever relationship this is; it has escalated to a toxic level, and is far beyond unhealthy. Willingness to be hurt full enough to destroy a persons personal property especially if that property is particularly treasured, is extremely toxic. Seek a professional opinion as soon as possible.

I'm usually level-headed but this makes my blood boil. A pipe is, to me, very sacred and personal. To cause destruction to the pipe of another being is...... damnable.

Sorry if this gets awkward really fast, but the only situation I can think of where it would be reasonable to take drastic measures to keep someone away from a pipe is if you're dealing with a pregnant woman. In that case Nicotine is going to cause severe harm to your baby. I'm assuming that's not the situation here, but that sort of situation will pop up from time to time, and it is a life and death subject.
