I don't even want to get into how this happened. But, I assure you, this was spite. I'm just venting really, in my nondescript kind of way. Well, I guess I've gotta give you something. There was an argument and the 2nd party ran off into the woods with the pipes and smashed them with, I believe, a rock. Oh, man. It is hard to keep my cool. Two of those three pipes were gifts and of great emotional value to me. I've taken people to small claims court before. It's not worth it. And, whether the guilty party knows it or not, the replacement pipes I'm going to buy will be mostly funded by their money.
Well, I always wished I had saved up money for a nice estate pipe for my first purchase. I'm looking at bulldogs, but that will come later. For now, I need to wait until I'm more level headed before I run out and buy something. Well, ok. I was looking at this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Savinelli-Oscar-Aged-Briar-Pipe-Italy-623-/251588710636?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a93db10ec

I've never encountered pipe-o-cide before. May the briars rest in peace. If you can resolve this

human distress, that will be a major accomplishment. All best wishes for that. Maybe you could

make a tamper or something out of parts of the gift pipe(s) to sustain that memory. When I leave

home, I hide a few good pipes around, off the rack, in case I get burglarized. Who kills pipes?

Humans are the strangest creatures of all. Clever but often destructive.

Take some time before doing anything.... a cool head is necessary and will keep YOU out of the wrong.

Sad they didnt/couldnt control their emotions and had to destroy something.

Well if this devil incarnate is funding your next pipe, might I suggest this one.

^ Hahahaha!
Yes, woodsroad et al. You're right. I think I'll give this a week or so before I negotiate. In the mean time, I don't even feel like smoking.

Yes, the meer made it. I kept that in a separate location. I had half a bowl from that little guy this morning, but I couldn't finish it. I'm a "happy smoker," I suppose. Those three that were broken consisted of my first pipe, a birthday gift from a friend, and one from the FPP. That Rugby with the orange stem came from you and Monty55. Smoked like a dream. The others from the two from the FPP are safe. They've served me well and will do so more now than ever. Thanks for asking, Dave.

I think I'll patch up the Rugby and the London Squire. Even if I can't smoke them, the mean to much to me to just throw them away. They can keep my books company.

PM sent. I was afraid I'd offended you with my Pipes in Art post, though you did get me back pretty nicely :)
PS Cool pipe case though.
