what budget-minded sticks do you recommend
By far the best budget line available is the 5 Vegas line if you call the reps at cigar.com they will give you a sweet deal!! you can get a box from anywhere from 40 to 80 bucks but they smoke like a 250 dollar a box cigar. also the flora de olivia is a great smoke on the cheep. there are a few more but with all the different blends in the 5 Vegas line and the flora de olivia you won need anything else.

i've enjoyed a cigar from time to time in the past but wouldn't smoke them much now on principle. since they became a pop culture phenomenon and prices have gone through the roof there aren't many worth the price asked for them. i do have a few in the house - they'd be my choice. de nobilis, made in scranton. this is a cheroot:

i just hope the same thing doesn't happen with the pipe - that it becomes "hip" to smoke one and prices get ridiculous.

I enjoy a cigar now and again, but I can't be bothered to maintain a humidor. So, I just buy them and smoke them within a day or two. I'm not really well versed on cigar nomenclature. I know that my favorite cigar so far was a CAO Brazilia, came in the metal tube. That one was good! I do normally keep those Villiger Export cigars on hand, both the Natural and the Maduro wrapper. For a dry style cigar they are pretty good, far better than anything from the corner store.

I haven't smoked cigars since the days Clint Eastwood did his western movies.
We smoked Swisher Sweets because that was all we could afford... but then we also used to drink Boone's Farm Apple Wine. :|
It's lucky I survived.

I'll have a Montecristo or Romeo e'Julieta every now and then. Since I started pipes, the cigars have been few, though. I had a Backwoods with a buddy of mine awhile back. When I smoke those, I feel like I need a poncho and a Colt Single Action Army revolver on my hip.

I do enjoy a good cigar now and then, moreso in warm weather, but to me a pipe is about smoking tobacco and a cigar is always just a cigar, if that makes sense.

I smoke the occasional cigar, but with the prohibitive Canadian prices on tobacco products, I fear that it will never be more than a couple of stogies per month. In all honesty, while I love cigars (especially those with Maduro wrappers, mmmm), I am just too damn cheap to be shelling out $20+ CAD for a half-decent smoke when the mood takes me.
Not that these really count, but I do keep a pack of (insert cheapo plastic tipped OTC cigarillo here) to keep in the golf bag.

I am into both. They both have their nuances that the other cannot provide. I sort of lean towards the pipe most of the time.

Never really tried a "real" ciggar (only those cheap drogstore ones) So if you wanna try one out were should you begin?

atuukson, I'm certainly no expert, but, if you have a good local tobacconist with a decent humidor they could probably make some suggestions based on your tastes or just ask them for a reasonable sample of a couple different sizes, construction and wrappers. There are things like ring gauge and length to think about down the line. I've found I lean towards about a five inch cigar of a moderate gauge with a maduro wrapper. I can usually find several cigars in the $5-$10 range that are suitable. Again though, I only enjoy "real" cigars maybe a couple times a month. I'll probably bust out one of those dry Villiger Exports maybe once a week for a 20 minute smoke, still prefer the relaxation and time spent with the pipe.
