Please Mr. Olette...... That's all I want for Christmas...... Please recreate Frog Morton Cellar!
So this list just covers some popular blends...I guess that's what you're looking for?

VaPer/Virginia: Escudo Navy De Luxe, Capstan Blue, Elizabethan Mixture
English: Early Morning Pipe, Nightcap, My Mixture 965, Plum Pudding, Presbyterian Mixture, Squadron Leader
Aromatic: Scottish Mixture, 1Q, Molto Dolce
Burley: (Besides OTC) Haunted Bookshop, Old Joe Krantz, HH Burley Flake, Aged Burley Flake
Of course there are many others.
To me the basic must try’s That are easy to get might be:What are the must-know/must-try tobaccos for beginners? Not personal favorites. Just the heavy hitters with which everyone should be familiar. I think it would be a good list to compile.
As an analogy, if someone had zero knowledge of Rock 'n' Roll and wanted to learn, you would give them Elvis, The Beatles and the Stones as a likely starting point rather than Moby Grape, Mahavishnu Orchestra, and The Monks. The hit list, not the deep cut favorites.
What are the age honored OTC, flake, cake, Virginia, English, etc.
For OTC I would think Capt. Black, but which one? Carter Hall, Virginia Gold?
I'm sure some of the Petersons/former Dunhills. Something from Orlik, Mac Baren, C&D, Stockebye?
Give me the radio hits, not the B-sides and rarities.
