Hector, my 8 year old almost full black Lab, doesn't like his kibble aged at all. Lightly rubbed out and hydrated, yes. I never pack it as tightly as he'd like, so he's not overweight.

He suggests "Pedigree Flake topped with H2O" as a good name for his daily fare.

Not so far! He's very comfortable with the amount of water I add and the length of time I let the bowl sit to soften the bits. Actually, he'd prefer to get at the bowl as soon as it's poured....
