I’ll PM you my mom’s address down in NC. If she can’t put weight on you it can’t be done.

Now, I’m not saying that weight won’t be 100% cholesterol, but dammit, it’s weight!

I burn that too. I've got 0% body fat and a near non existent LDL.

Settle in and get comfy because tonight's tale is long but a treat for sure. This is the first story I ever read by Algernon Blackwood and instantly hooked me. HP Lovecraft called it "the single finest tale in wired literature". Gives me shivers to listen to and recall canoe trips from when I was younger.

The Willows:

Now a twisted tale by French master of horror Guy de Maupassant called "The Devil". This is another author I enjoy quite a bit.

Tonight's first story is part of a larger collection called "The King in Yellow" by Robert Chambers which I highly recommend reading if you have the chance. Some of the stories in the collection are really more romantic tales set against war-torn France and are more romantic in a classical sense and not some tawdry garbage.

Here's "The Yellow Sign" which is probably considered the scariest of the collection. It's certainly the most supernatural.

This is from another author I greatly enjoy, Arthur Machan, and is one of many profound stories he wrote. Indeed he ranks among Poe, Lovecraft, Blackwood and others. Here is"The Great God Pan":
