I've got a trench lighter that has a tendency to leak a little up at the wick when filled.
Imagine if you will, being absorbed in a good book, placing your pipe in your mouth to light it, flicking the wheel, and then having your mustache singed by the fireball from the trench lighter that you carelessly overfilled while reading.

My prettiest pipe, my big Brigham Heritage smooth big-azz brandy, with the super hard, hi-gloss finish - a pipe that should not be places out of the comfy recliner in the smoking-den, nor used for a traveling pipe - was in the outside pocket of my dog walking coat - pocket flap left unsnapped; of course :( I was standing over rough surfaced concrete outside the house, and bent down to do something, and my thigh ejected the slick pipe out of my pocket and it came smacking down onto hard, rough surface - peppering the finish with what looks like a tight shotgun blast pattern of dings and rough, ugly indentations.

For some reason the way my teeth align, sometimes I'll be clenching a pipe in what feels like a solid position and then after a few seconds the bit "pops" into place and throws the pipe in a hard can't to the left spewing ash and embers everywhere. Only happens once in a while though. Never had a burn though.

About the worst I’ve done is smoke some fish food. I didn’t wipe my fingers off apparently and packed a flake in there with my tobacco. There was no mistaking what it was once the ember touched it. I’ve also done the same with PB Blaster. That was pretty bad, too. I was stressed out.
I’ve also knocked pipes out of my mouth while setting the hook on fish. Another time I knocked my pipe into the river while netting a steelhead on a steep bank with a long handled net. The mesh was too large to net the pipe (plus it was filled with a thrashing 7lb trout) so I just kinda jammed it into the mud with the rim of the net, released the fish, and slid down to retrieve it. It was absolutely full of mud. I still smoke that pipe daily.
I don’t think I own a briar that hasn’t yet gone for a swim at some point.
I used the e cig to quit cigarettes years ago. I quit the e cig after about 2 years. For some stupid reason I had some beard oil sitting right next to the nic liquid. Identical amber glass dropper bottles. Inhaling a lung full of essential oils is probably one of the worst experiences. ?

... a few years ago I had the shank separate from the stem of a Peterson Newgrange Spigot while walking. The bowl hit the pavement and cracked into two. I just stood there clenching the surviving half in disbelief. Operator’s error... maybe, but RIP nonetheless.

Fell asleep on front porch yesterday and dropped the pipe I was clenching. Luckily, with my ninja like reflexes, I caught the pipe. But split ember all over my shirts. But, was able to dust them off. Then dropped my Zippo on the concrete. Damn it. First drop of this Zippo.
