Just wait and order some missouri meerschaum corncob pipes. Or in my area, Walgreens carries them.

Keeping an open mind, the bay leaves got me to thinking... there's a whole world of herbs and spices that we may be overlooking. I bet paprika would be a good gateway to Latakia and perique mixes, Rosemary and cloves, the lakelands... vanilla and cinnamon, the aromatics.
Heck, you don't need a corn cob. You could just make a calabash out of an empty beercan. :puffy:

lol i was stupid for burning bayleaves I was NOT trying to get high. I like smoking and just watching the smoke lol I thought the bayleaves could lite faster than green tea
Update: my bamboo pipe was actually pretty good smoke. A wee bit small and a pain in the @#$ to light but once it gets going it was actually better than the other pipe. Though shorter smoke time while with the other pipe the smoke was blue with this one the smoke was pure white! The tobacco tastes like coffee ☺

I apologize for this long post. I should have made a separate thread. I apologize for annoying everyone.
As you know I made a custom pipe out of bamboo. It seems to work pretty well.
Short but stable smoke.
But I have a few questions on the life of the pipe.
First off I see minor peeling and aging of the bamboo
Also while making the pipe I accidentally scratched it while sawing it.
Is the still FUNCTIONALLY alright?
(I got rid of the mites with a pipe cleaner and a wee bit of alcohol for the exterior I put a wee bit of olive oil)
Can my custom pipe potentially last longer than a corncob and as long as a regular pipe?
Plus did I smoke my pipe properly? What I did was I loaded tobacco and compressed it. But left a small space at the top. I lit it but the tobacco was too moist.
I then microwaved it for 2 minutes and let the tobacco cool.
I then repeated what I did and packed it with a nail head.
The pipe lit and the smoke was pure white!
When the bowl felt hot to the touch I stopped smoking.
Should I have done the 3 layer method instead?
I see ash in the pipe but no cracks like the other pipe
Is my pipe ruined?
I put a lot of work into building my pipe so I want to take care of it.
Thank you very much for your time. I will get those corncobs soon :D :D

That pipe looks good.

When drying tobacco in the microwave just spread a bowls worth on a paper towel and nuke for 10 seconds.

oh 1 more thing how do I cool the pipe off? is it safe to put it on a cool plate or could that crack it?
Should I let it cool on a cork plant instead?
also can this last as long as a regular pipe? I want a regular pipe don't get me wrong but I screwed up a nice pipe and want a replacement. it will be a while till i can afford a nice pipe!

If ya don't screw up, ya don't learn. Tell me what not to do not what to do. Failures make for a shorter learning curve !
