Pipe Smoking Care

How many bowls were smoked out of it? Doesn't seem like there's much cake in it.

i only smoked 1 bowl but i'll be honest i raided my dads old drawr and it used to be his pipe but he packed it away when i showed it to him once he said i could have it if i wanted
i probably f ed up a nice pipe i feel bad however I am almost done building a bamboo pipe

I honestly, by the photos, believe it's salvageable. The rim can be cleaned up, worst case sanded down and restained, and I still think the cracks in the chamber are cracks in either cake buildup or precarb. There are others here, more knowledgeable than I am that might chime in though.

well live an learn lol i smoked bayleaves so they would burn faster than greentea. anyhoo i want corncobs but im in a rural area now and can't find any.
sorry to bounce like an adhd lol but i made a bamboo pipe. be honest if it sucks but i was thinking I could use that as my pipe to learn off of.

Don't see a thing wrong with it. You should consider getting some Missouri Meerschaum corn cobs too though. Very forgiving for the new pipe smoker.

really be honest if it sucks don't worry about hurting my feelings but if you truly mean it the only issue is that the bamboo is a wee bit old and weathered.
How do I treat the wood?
It also had tiny mites and while i was making it 2 mini wasps flew out lol :D But it still seems to function (though I haven't smoked it)
How do I treat the pipe before smoking it? Water, or rubbing alchohol idk?

A douse in vodka to wipe out a resident mite population may be in order. let it dry out before smoking or not....IDK

thanks i'll try to order those corncobs today.
though for the bamboo pipe i dont have vodca is their another way to clean it? the exterior is a wee bit weathered and i saw mites in the pipe bowl.
would diluted rubbing alchol work?

seriously i suck as a carpenter lol how do I treat the outside of the pipe it is weathered. And for the bowl and the stem I found mites and 2 wasps lol
i don't have vodka like 1 user suggested i guess rubbing alchol would be unsafe.
what do others use to clean their pipes? (interior and exterior)
